Russell Cecil Hand MOULTRIE Russell Cecil Hand, 91, of Moultrie, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Park Regency of Moultrie. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 22, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Tillman officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Church Cemetery. Born July 19, 1922, in Marion County, Ga., he was the son of the late Crawford William Hand and Vera Cecil Roberts Hand. He was a retired office machine technician from Albany Typewriter Co. and he was a W.W.II United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of China Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary R. Hand; a brother, James M. Hand; and a sister, Gertrude DeVane. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Strawder Hand of Moultrie; sons, Delson Cecil Hand and wife Wanda of Greenwood, S.C., Gilbert W. Hand of Vidalia, Ga., Carlon M. Hand and wife Terrie of Cave Creek, Ariz., and David Hand of Jacksonville, Fla.; a step-son, Ed Tillman and wife Sharon of Norman Park; a sister, Mildred Funderburk of Columbus, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a special care giver, his granddaughter, Karen Boyd. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2 to 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to United Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
