Sarah Brock Smithwick, 85, of Morrow, Ga., formerly of Moultrie, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Lake City Nursing and Rehab in Lake City, Ga. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, at Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Norman officiating, assisted by the Rev. Charles Huggins. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens with Huey Brock officiating at the graveside. The Pallbearers will be Michael Clark, Spencer Morgan, Bailey Morgan, Mason Morgan, Frank Hurst, Jerry Brock, Paul North and Toby Clark. Born Sept. 6, 1926, in Mitchell County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Ruthie Alligood Brock. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lee Smithwick; her son, Freddie Smithwick; brothers, Herbert, Robert, Bernice, Hollis and Earnest Brock; and sisters, Ruby Hurst, Nancy Bogert, Mattie Crook and Pearl Brock. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Clark of Morrow, Ga.; brother, Huey Brock and wife Faye of Winder, Ga.; grandchildren, Renee North and husband Paul of Carrollton, Ga., and Michael Clark of Hogansville, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Spencer Morgan, Kelsey Morgan, Bailey Morgan, Mason Morgan and Sarah Kate North. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
