Seymore Thomas Carruthers Jr.

Seymore Thomas "Tommy" Carruthers Jr., 65, of Moultrie, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 27, 2017 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Wiard officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Church Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Justin Mitchell, Dustin Mitchell, Chet Mitchell, Doug Sangster, and Corey Mitchell. Born November 26, 1951 in Moultrie, he was the son of Susie Mae Sangster Croft and the late Seymore Thomas "Tommy" Carruthers Sr. He retired from Whatley Contact Carriers, from Moultrie Distributors, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughters, Shelley Schoonderwoerd and husband Richard of Tavistock, Canada, Cindy Hyde and partner Patrick Schooley of Stratford, Ontario, Hollie Faucheux, Savannah Carruthers and partner Robert Peters, all of Headland, Al; grandchildren, Nicole Schoonderwoerd, Hailey Schoonderwoerd, Leeah Schoonderwoerd, Bo Hyde, Luke Hyde, Hannah Phillips, Presley Faircloth, Landon Carruthers; mother, Susie Mae Sangster Croft; brothers, Charles Carruthers and wife Kristi of Moultrie, Curtis Carruthers of Mt. Washington, KY; sisters, Jane Benton Parrish and husband Joe of Moultrie, Anne Carroll and husband Thomas of Cordele, and Crystal Corbett and husband Scott of Jennings, FL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
