Shelby Jean Nelms

Shelby Jean Nelms, 80, of Moultrie, died on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Born on November 23, 1944, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Franklin Nelms and Jessie Belle Kierce Nelms. Mrs. Nelms was deeply passionate about the timeless stories found in Western movies and books. She was of the non-denominational faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Junior Lee Nelson Nelms, Lummie Dewitt Nelms, and Sydney Eugene Nelms; brother-in-law, Douglas Day; niece, Jessica Amanda Gutierrez; and nephew, Dewitt Nelms.

Mrs. Nelms is survived by her sister, Betty Jean Nelms Day of Moultrie; nieces, Brinda Young, Geneva Willeby, and Mellissa Smallwood; and nephews, Douglas Nelms, and Randall Nelms.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home and Crematory.
