MOULTRIE - Shirley Jean Gordon, 82, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at her residence. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Barrett officiating and assisted by Rev. Kevin Hopper. Interment will take place at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. Born on Jan. 31, 1933, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of Foster Simmons and Lillie Catherine Reynolds Simmons. She was a retired seamstress at Turner's Ladies Dress Store, and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward "Bill" Gordon; brothers, Edwin Simmons, John Paul Simmons and Buford Simmons; and a sister, Virginia Fickel. Survivors include son, Billy Gordon and wife Shirley of Moultrie; daughter, Kathy Sue Stephens of Smyrna, Ga.; one special half sister Jackie Hart and husband Guy of Moultrie; grandchildren, Steve N. Stephens and wife Jennifer of Pearland Tx., Austin Stephens and wife Dimara of Middle Village N.Y, and William "Will" J. Gordon of Moultrie; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Stephens, Corine Stephens of Pearland, Tx., Guillermo Stephens, and Cordelia Stephens of Middle Village, N.Y. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service. The family requests that donations be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 3548, Moultrie, 31776.
