Stephen Harvey McClendon, 52, of Adel, formerly of Moultrie, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at his residence.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Willacoochee City Cemetery with Rev. Danny Callahan officiating. The employees of West 500 Rest Care Home/ Normal Life of Georgia will all serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born on November 7, 1967, in Douglas, Georgia, he was the son of Shirley Ann Miller Sumner and the late Harvey McClendon. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by stepbrother, Joe Glenn Sumner.
He is survived by his loving mother, Shirley Ann Miller Sumner of Waycross; stepfather, Hilsman Sumner of Ellenton; stepsisters, Cindy Carter and husband Ron of Chapman, SC and Sabrina Shiver and husband Steve of St. Simons Island; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
