Talmadge Lamar "Marty"Williams, 79, of Moultrie, died Sunday, May 22, 2016. Services will beWednesday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Mr.William's grandson, Lamar Williams officiating assisted by Mr.Williams son-in-law, Lavon Cooper. Interment will follow in the Funston City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be ChirsWilliams, Patrick Williams, Ricky Perkins, Bobby Carden, KeithWilliams, KerrWilliams, and Ray "Henry" Roberts. Born on March 13, 1937, in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late Robert LumpkinWilliams and Lessie Dunn Williams. Marty was a retired building contrator and began building homes at the age of 10 with his father. He loved to work in the garden and on the farm. He shared that pas- sion of gardening, farming, and working with livestock to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Airforce, and was of the Baptist faith. He always told his family to "trust in God and hammer on." He was preceded in death by his brothers, RoyWilliams, MiltonWilliams, BoWilliams, TomWilliams, and Hilton Williams; sisters, Grace Jones, JeanWhitehead, Lydia Carden, Ruth Lodge, and Ollie MaeWilliams; and great- grandson, Marshall Brantley Hancock. Survivors include his wife, Mary AliceWilliams of Moultrie; sons, Talmadge L. "Tal"Williams and wife Michelle of Leesburg, Ga., Thomas LessieWilliams and Sandy of Moultrie, Timothy LewisWilliams and wife Merry of Texas, Ausburn "Oz" Newton and wife Angie of Monroe, Ga., and Marshall AlbertWilliams and wifeWinnie of Cecil, Ga.; daughters, Lynn Cooper and Husband Lavon of Moultrie, Cynthia "Cindi" Georgette Smith and husband Tim of Moultrie, and Marcia MartinqueWilliams Perry and husband Zac of Monroe, Ga.; sisters, Karen Perkins and husband Pete of Moultrie, and Lily Kirby of Stockbridge, Ga.; sister-in-law, BonnieWilliams of Lizella, Ga.; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; special pet, Cookie; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
