COOLIDGE Thelma Wooten Goff, 98, of Coolidge, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Murphy Cemetery. The Rev. Chuck Scarborough will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Bobby Whitaker. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and her great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Goff was born July 28, 1914, in Thomas County, Ga., to Arthur Wooten and Ruby Bass Wooten. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. "Sook" Goff; a daughter, Edna Elizabeth Goff Ricks; a brother, Arthur Wooten; a sister, Ira Wood; a son-in-law, Jack Ricks; a grandchild, Debbie Halbert; and a great-grandchild, Brandon Craig Goff. Survivors include two sons, A.K. "Buck" Goff and wife Loyce of Ochlocknee, and Arthur H. "Butch" Goff and wife Michelle of Twin City, Ga.; a daughter, Elaine G. Johnson and husband Don of Coolidge; a sister, Myrtle Morris of Coolidge; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Baker Funeral Home. The family may be contacted at 2770 U.S. Hwy. 319 South, Coolidge. Donations may be made to the Murphy Cemetery Fund.
