Thomas Edwin Norman (PICTURE) (VETERAN) NORMAN PARK Thomas Edwin Norman, 89, of Norman Park, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 25, at Norman Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Al Lewis, the Rev. Jim Houseal, the Rev. Jimmy Voyles and the Rev. Hugh Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with Scott David, Matt Norman, Chad David, Henry Norman, Eason Adams and Cody Carr serving as pallbearers. Born Sept. 6, 1925, in Ellenton, he was the son of the late Ernest W. Norman and Cecil Hancock Norman. He was the founder of Quailridge Plantation and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Norman Park United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school class and the J.W. Herndon Sunday school class for 64 years. He was a song leader for many years and a lay speaker for years. He was also a founding member of Ambassador Quartet. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtice Williams Norman; a brother, Wendell Norman; and a sister, Ernestine Dorsey. Survivors include his wife, Gail Wilson Norman of Norman Park; sons, Ed Norman and wife Patty of Norman Park and John Norman and wife Mary of Moultrie; daughters, Ellen Adams and husband Randy of Norman Park and Beth Norman Ham and husband Steve of Highlands, N.C.; step-children, Terri Carr and husband Rusty of Funston, Lisa Baker of Norman Park and Jamey Sellars of Alpharetta, Ga.; grandchildren, Melanie Ham, Bruce Ham, Scott David, Chad David, Eason Adams, Bryn Adams, Matt Norman, Katie Broaddus, Jennifer Norman, Henry Norman, Rosemary D'Louhy and Annie Vereen; step-grandchildren, Cody Carr, Caitlin Carr, T. J. Mims, Zachary Mims and Wyatt Baker; great-grandchildren, Annabelle Ye, Micah Ye, Reese David, Josie David, Sophia David, Hayden Broaddus, Aubree Broaddus and Angus Norman; and a step-great-grandchild, Mickey Mims. Visitation will from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
