Thomas “Tom” John O’Hara, 78, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 14, 2025, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, with Reverend Walter Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Leila Cemetery in Omega, Georgia.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
He was born on April 24, 1946, in Brunswick, New Jersey. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that sense of dedication into every chapter of his life. He spent his professional career in advertising at Pantry Pride, where his creative talent and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Tom was of the Baptist faith and lived by the values of kindness, humility, and compassion. Outside of work, he was a remarkably gifted artist. His art was not only a passion but a reflection of the way he saw the world—with depth, color, and heart.
He is preceded in death by one son, Brian O’Hara.
Tom is survived by his wife, Edna Joyce Gandy O’Hara of Jacksonville, Florida; son, Shawn O’Hara and wife Colleen of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Thomas William O’Hara and Michael Robert O’Hara both from Jacksonville, Florida.
