Thomas 'Tommy' Evans Cato BERLIN - Thomas 'Tommy' Evans Cato, 78, of Berlin, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Norman officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Dusty Farmer, Jebb Cato, Judd Cato, Nathan Cato, Blake Cato, Kevin Alderman, Chris Alderman, and Cory Bridwell. Born on Feb. 1, 1938, in Valdosta, he was the son of the late James Thomas Cato and Nellie Irene Evans Cato. He was a retired truck driver with Ferrell Gas and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Cato; and one sister, Betty Hart. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Browning Cato of Berlin; sons, James Cato and wife Paula, Robert Cato, Larry Cato, Tony Cato and wife Serena, and Mark Cato all of Berlin; daughters, Carol Alderman and husband Richard of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tina Bridwell and husband Mark of Berlin; brother-in-law, Bobby Browning of Moultrie; sister-in-law, Betty Pyles of Berlin; 28 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
