Tony Asbell, 70, of Thomasville, passed away on February 14, 2017 at Thomasville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Graveside/Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 280 Buck Creek Rd. Norman Park, Georgia,31771 with Pastor Tim Robinson officiating. He was born in Colquitt Co., Georgia on July 5, 1946 to Vesta Mae Asbell. He spent most of his life in Thomasville, Ga. He worked part-time for several years at the U.S. Post Office in Thomasville. He also attended and worked part-time at Opportunity House. Tony enjoyed working word puzzles, playing on his laptop computer, visiting with his friends, and talking on the telephone. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lily Mae Crosby, and William Elijah Asbell; sister, Jean Bloxham; brother in law, Lee Bloxham and his aunt Jeanette Crawford. Tony leaves behind many friends including "Mama Pat" and "Dad" Guy and their extended family, and his lifelong best friend, Dallas Norman. They attended the same school. Tony loves going to dinner with Dallas on a frequent basis. He formed a close friendship with his roommate, Nathan Odom. He is survived by his uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Asbell, of Doerun, and nieces and nephews in Arizona. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home in Moultrie.
