Traci Lynn Pritchett Chastain was born in Thomasville, Georgia on July 17, 1966, to Shirley Boyette Pritchett and Thomas Lamar Pritchett. She spent her early years living in Cairo, Georgia, and Marianna, Florida before moving to her adopted hometown of Moultrie in second grade. Traci graduated from Colquitt County High School and later Brewton-Parker College and Valdosta State University. She faithfully served as the consummate educator for thirty-seven years, all with the Colquitt County School District. She loved her school families at Sunset and Doerun, as well as the many friends she taught with through Migrant Summer School.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at First Baptist Church Moultrie with Rev. Matt Peek, Rev. Dr. Jimmy Voyles, Rev. Dr. Hugh Ward, and Diane Jablonowski officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Traci married her high school sweetheart and best friend, David, on the anniversary of their first date four years earlier. They celebrated their thirty-seventh wedding anniversary just last month. She was the mother of two beautiful children, Thomas Asa Chastain (Samantha Diaz) and Emilee Caroline Chastain. She was so proud of them and loved them with all of her heart.
Traci loved cooking for family and friends and cheering on the Colquitt County Packers, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. Another joy of hers was exploring untold restaurants and dives of the South with her husband. She especially enjoyed attending her precious Sunday School class and church services at First Baptist Moultrie where she faithfully taught children's Sunday School, Mission Friends, and served on the Youth Committee and Baptismal Committee for many years.

Traci is survived by her parents, husband, and children, as well as her sister Dana Murphy (Calvin), and brothers Dusty Pritchett (Christina), and Gabe Pritchett (Paula). Also surviving are sister-in-law Robbie Chambers (Joe) and brothers-in-law Bill Chastain (Arny), John Chastain (Jeri), and Joe Chastain (Jayme) and mother-in-law Beatrice Croft Chastain.
She is also survived by many other beloved family and special friends.
