Turner Davis (PICTURE) (VETERAN) BERLIN Turner Davis, 90, of Berlin, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Crystal River Health and Rehab., in Florida. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 30, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery. Born Sept. 7, 1923, in Barney, Ga., he was the son of the late Henry Davis and Delia Easter Davis. He was retired from the United States Air Force and was of the Baptist faith. He lived in Crystal River, Fla., only a brief time, but was able to enjoy his great-grandchildren and he loved fishing and riding golf carts, his family remarked of him. "He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but he will live on in our hearts and memories," his family said of him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Walden Davis; brothers, Luther Davis and George Davis; and sisters, Lucy Boyd and Ruth Croft. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Hiers and husband Tony of Spring Hill, Fla.; grandchildren, Jessica Hurley and husband Jessie of Clearwater, Fla., and Kayla Hurley and husband Jason of Hudson, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Isabella Hurley, Delia Hurley, Jessie Hurley Jr., Owen Hurley, Gavin Hurley and Olivia Hurley. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service on Monday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
