Virginia “Ginger” Opal Allen, 87, of Moultrie, died on Monday, December 16, 2024 at her home.
In keeping with Mrs. Allen’s wishes, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date where her ashes will be spread in the mountains of Colorado, of which she loved.
Born on June 2, 1937, in Griffin, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Anderson Weeks and Bessie Mae Fields Weeks. She worked as a dietitian at Brownwood Nursing Home and was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was reading the Bible, finding solace and guidance in its words. She also adored traveling to Colorado, a place that captured her heart with its majestic beauty and serenity.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Allen; daughter DeDe Anne Foster; brothers, Monroe Weeks, Milton Weeks, Billy Weeks, Odell Weeks; and sisters, Mary Hurst, Ethel Davis and Charlotte Harper.
She is survived by her children, Danny Paul Foster and wife Colleen of Thornton, Colorado; Deborah Joanne Hargraves and husband Wandell, Donna Jeanne Tillman, all of Moultrie; step-daughter, Christie Morrow and husband Mark of Malone, Florida; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Heath of Americus.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
