William "Bill" E. Johnson, Jr., 64, of Pavo, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Ione Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Mitch Kitchens and Pastor Buford Groves officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Casketbearers will be Danny Hortman, Rick Nix, Craig Giles, James Graves, Eric Tucker, and Randy Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Moultrie Fire Department.
Born on February 23, 1955, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Ernest Johnson, Sr. and Doris Graves Johnson Waters. He was employed with Moultrie Fire Department for 43 years and was Battalion Captain. He was a member of Ione Freewill Baptist Church in Pavo.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda S. McAlpin Johnson of Pavo; daughters, Ashley Johnson and fiancé Joe Welch of Pavo, Christy Gailey of Pavo, and Amy Gant and husband Mike of Dade City, Florida; grandchildren, Morgan Broadway, Thomas Welch, Jordan Gailey, Kasey Gailey, Tyler Clark, Breanna Gant, Jaylin Gant; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Becky Johnson Tucker and husband Jerry of Moultrie; and sister in law, Glenda Giles and husband Craig of Sumner; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, "Ruger".
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
