William Lamar Leverett, Jr., 79, of Ellenton, died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home, with Rev. Sunnie Bland officiating. Burial will follow at Reedy Creek Church Cemetery. Ricky Hembree, Monty Johnson, Jeff Hayward, Jeff Thorne, Marshall Holley, and Alan Leverette will all serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Born on July 11, 1945, in Orlando, Florida, he was the son of the late William Lamar Leverett, Sr. and Estelle Storey Leverett. After graduating with an Associate's Degree from Norman College, William pursued a successful career as an engineer on the Georgia Tech campus, where his expertise and innovative spirit left an indelible mark on those he worked with. His dedication to his craft and love for creating lasting structures will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. William's passion for woodworking and construction was evident from a young age. With a keen eye for detail and a natural talent for craftsmanship, he built his first home from the ground up, showcasing his skills as a master carpenter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Amanda Faye Leverett.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Holloway Leverett of Ellenton; his sister, Marsha Holley and husband, John of Palaka, Florida.
