William Alvin Boyd, Sr.

William A. 'Pops' Boyd, Sr. William a. 'Pops' boyd, Sr., age 86 of Crescent City, FL died Wednesday March 6, 2013 at his residenc. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday March 9 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Paxton officiating. Burial will follow in Leila Church Cemetery with E.J. Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Roger Dorsey, Lee Williams, Blake Boutwell and Gary Lewis servin as pallbearers. Born July 19, 1926, in Nashville, GA, he as the son of the late Jessie Boyd and Viola Kirkland Boyd, He was a contract welder and he was a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Hamilton Boyd; brothers, Wallace Boyd and Audie B. Boyd; and sisters, Jessie Mae Jacobs and Annie Pearl Boyd. Survivors include his son., William Boyd,Jr. and wife Kathy of Crescent City, FL; daughters, Lisa Dorsey and husband Joey of Norman Park and Karen Allegood and husband Dewayne of Norman Park; brother, A.M. Boyd and wife Mary; special friend, Elizabeth Truett; three granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Boyd, Lori Lynn Fountain and Lisa Mari Hamm; a grandson, Bobby Joe Dorsey; and serveral great-grandchildren.Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
