William Carl Cavender

William Carl Cavender, 84, of Pavo, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 13, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. Born Sept. 4, 1927, in Suches, Ga., he was the son of the late Edgar Cavender and Charlotta Carder Cavender. He was a machinist for Berkley Pump and a veteran. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Carl Cavender; and brothers, Oscar Clayton Cavender and Fred Cavender. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Hufstetler Cavender of Pavo; a brother, Patrick Cavender and wife Elinor of Texas; and sisters, Myrtle Cleaton of Atlanta, Ga., Pearl Dunn and husband Elmer of Tennessee and Blanche Terry of Tampa, Fla.
