William David "WD" Creel

William David “WD” Creel, 88, of Moultrie, passed away at Pruitt Health Crestwood Memory Care in Valdosta on Monday, September 16, 2024. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. 

Born on August 17, 1936, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Cornelius Absen Creel and Nellie Hughes Creel. Mr. Creel worked for Moultrie Farm Center for 25 years and was of the Baptist faith. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Causey Creel; sons, William David Creel, Jr. and Wayne Causey Creel; brothers, Eugene Creel, Buddy Creel, and Mike Creel; and sister, Reba Nelms.

Mr. Creel is survived by his daughter, Dedra Creel Varnadoe and husband Baird of Moultrie; grandchildren, Skipper Varnadoe and wife Abby of Crawfordville, Florida, and Kylie Varnadoe Haughton and husband Parker of Moultrie; great-grandchildren, Bailyn and James Haughton; brother, Larry Creel and wife Jean of Chula; and sisters, June Meadows of Albany, Faye Sherrod of Fitzgerald, and Regina Patterson of Scooterville.
