William Hoyle Pitchford, 85, of Moultrie, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at The Golden Apple.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 3:00 o'clock in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Colquitt Co. Men's Choir.
Born on November 16, 1932 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Walter Hoyle Pitchford and Eva Maude Whitfield Pitchford. He was the owner of The Dutch Girl for many years. He retired from retail services, was a licensed Methodist Minister, and a member of Woodmen Life. Mr. Pitchford was also a member of the Colquitt Co. Men's Choir. He loved music and singing. He was a member of the Funston Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jane Pitchford; brother, Walter Van Pitchford; and sisters, Elizabeth Crosby, Gladys Rylie, Nellie Pitchford, and Lila Schmaker.
He is survived by a brother, Harry Slocumb Pitchford and wife Marie of Valdosta; nephew, Tommy Crosby of Florida; and special friends, Julia Johnston, Thomas E. and Charlotte Brown, Rev. Gary Hanks and wife Anne, David and Vivian Lewis, Heather Weeks, and LeAnn Littleton.
The family will receive friends from 2p.m.-3p.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home prior to the service.
