William T. "Billy" Olcott, Jr.

William “Billy” Thomas Olcott, Jr., 78, of Moultrie, formerly of Coventry, RI, passed away at Archbold Medical Center on Monday, January 13, 2025. 

As per Mr. Olcott's wishes, he was cremated, and no formal services will be held.

Born on January 12, 1947, in West Warwick, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late William Thomas Olcott, Sr. and Gertrude Beauchaine Olcott. Billy's passion for racing began at a young age, and he quickly became known as a gifted jockey, admired for his skill, determination, and heart. Billy's deep connection to the PNA Club, where he spent many years socializing, brought him lasting friendships and a sense of belonging. Outside of racing, Billy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often regaling them with stories from his days on the track. His passion for life and his love for the sport remained unwavering until his passing.

Mr. Olcott is survived by his sisters, Joyce Marie Godwin of Moultrie, and Darleen Marie Landi of North Providence, Rhode, Island; and nieces and nephews, Melissa Payne Kent and husband Dean of Moultrie, Ryan DiCarlo and Derek DiCarlo both of Rhode Island.
