BARNEY, Ga. - William "Bill" Franklin Sullivan, 76, of Barney, Ga., died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, GA. Born May 27, 1940 in Quitman, Ga., he was the son of the late William Thomas Sullivan and Ocea Ila Rentz Sullivan. He was a United States Army veteran, drafted during the Korean War and serving from 1963 to 1965. On November 16, 1979, Bill was united in holy matrimony to Joyce Jones. For the last 37 years, they have stood faithfully by each other's side. After 24 years of service, Mr. Sullivan retired from Riverside Manufacturing in 2004. His hobbies included fishing, singing, playing the guitar, and loving his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Shelvia Jean Sirmans and Carol Hill. Survivors include: three daughters; Lisa Harrell of Colbert, GA, Sherry Robinson of Omega, GA and Amy Carlton of Hull, GA and one son; Billy Sullivan of Barney, GA; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home.
