MOULTRIE - William Ellis "Sonny" Wilson, Jr., 83, of Moultrie, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at his residence. Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m., at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Jake Hurst, Ryan M. Wilson, Donnie Hancock, Dave Owen, Tim Ingram, and Wayne Crawford. Born on July 31, 1933, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late William Ellis Wilson, Sr., and Tommie Will Wilson. He was a self employed carpenter, an Air Force Veteran, and of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Laney Joe Lacey, and Emma Kate Barton; and one grandson, Casey Daniel Osborn. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Viola Smith Wilson; son, Michael Jeffery Wilson and wife Donna of Berlin; daughters, Elisabeth Marie Crawford and husband Wayne of Moultrie, and Kahla Sue Osborn of Moultrie; grandchildren, Michael Blake Wilson and wife Kim, Ryan Matthew Wilson, Carrie Beth Hurst and husband Jake, Elisabeth Mackenzi Crawford, Makayli Rae Owen and husband Dave, Michael Wayne Crawford and wife Sam, and Melissa Dawn Newsome and husband Tony; and great grandchildren, Kayden Casey Hurst, Michael Baylen Wilson, Ella Brynn Crawford, Isabella Grace Clausen, Olivia Grace Wilson, Cale Reed Crawford, McClane Newsome, and Larson Newsome. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
